niceRO Client Patch 23022024 [#5]

Hi everyone! A new client patch is finally here. No auto-patcher in this one and also no fixed clothes palettes, but there are some other nice fixes and changes that took me a long time to implement.

New Features And Fixes

• Probably the biggest change in this patch is that we are moving on from the 2006-01-09a client EXE to the 2006-10-17a one.
  This may potentially cause some problems if we are missing some packets for this newer client on our server — the client may crash during some certain actions — but so far, during my tests, everything's been okay. Just in case, I've added our previous EXE file in this patch as a backup if anything goes wrong, so you can play the game by launching it instead of the new one.

• ADDED: 90 degree camera tilting!
  We are entering the Photo Mode Era with this new feature. Hope to see many cool screenshots from you all. Hope you don't mind the black skybox for now.

• ADDED: Multiple game windows support.

• ADDED: Unlimited loading screens support.
  This feature is essential for my future plans to post everyone's niceRO fanart on loading screens.

• ADDED: The English Homunculus AI tutorial html file to the AI folder.

• Edited the Monster Talk Table file to make the lines gender-neutral.

• Edited the Pet Talk Table file to make it less terrible (huge thanks to @rayzones for joining me to do this):

  • Got rid of racist, misogynistic, fatphobic lines.
  • Got rid of every mention of "master" and "pet".
  • Made lines gender-neutral.
    I might have missed some lines, since it was a very big amount of text and I had to take several naps during the whole process of editing the file, so please let me know in the feedback form if you see something bad.

• Changed "Swordman" class name to "Swordian" in the client files: skill descriptions, item descriptions, system messages.
  I will still need to make this change for NPC scripts, so don't mind them for now. But if you notice the old name somewhere else in the game, please let me know in the feedback form.

• Changed "Gypsy" class name to "Diva" in the client files: skill descriptions, item descriptions, system messages.

• Changed "TaeKwon Girl / Boy" to "TaeKwon Kid" in the client files: skill descriptions, item descriptions, system messages.

• Changed "Guildsman" to "Guildmate" in system messages.
  No idea if "guildsman" is used in NPC scripts, but I'll check it later.

• Edited the Skill Descriptions Table file to make descriptions gender-neutral.

• Edited the Item Descriptions Table file to make descriptions gender-neutral.

• Edited the Dancer's Scream skill lines to get rid of misogynistic lines.

• Edited the Bard's Frost Joke skill lines to get rid of misogynistic lines.

• Changed the Homunculus AI code so that Amistr and Lif homunculi will attack mobs on their own (like Vanilmirth and Filir).
  This change is probably not necessary anymore for Alchemists, since everyone is probably going to use these Homunculus AI tools.

• Changed the game window title to niceRO (2006-10-17a).

• FIXED: Spam filter now allows up to 25 of the same message posted in the chat instead of up to 3.

• FIXED: Certain Skill Descriptions were crashing the client.
  If you still find some issues with Skill Descriptions, please let me know in the feedback form.

• FIXED: Dancer’s Adaptation to Circumstances (Amp) skill description was missing.

• FIXED: The Detoxify skill description had parts of the Resurrection skill description.

• FIXED: "Potion Creation Gude" typo.

• FIXED: "when equipped by SAcolyte classes” typos in Item Descriptions.

• FIXED: Stone of Sage item had "Weight: 1" in its item description instead of its actual weight of 30.

• FIXED: Several consumable items didn't have effects (particles and sounds) on their consumption: Strawberry, Orange, Fresh Fish, etc.
  Please let me know in the feedback form if you find another item that doesn't have an effect after installing this patch.

• FIXED: Level Requirements for Accessories [1] that were changed in one of the previous server updates (brooch[1], necklace[1], glove[1], ring[1], rosary[1] and earring[1]) weren't updated in the item descriptions.

Known Issues

• The clothes dyeing palettes are still broken.
  I decided to spend some additional time to fix them properly instead of choosing the least broken ones from what we have right now.

• Super Novice gear is broken.
  Some of the items have wrong sprites, some don't have slots. Putting on Angel's Kiss [#5125] is causing the client to start showing "Missing sprite" error pop-ups.

• Magni's Cap [#5122] is breaking the client and softlocks the player character if they put it on.
